Yesterday was pretty rough. I had a rough time getting out of bed, a rough start to the morning, a rough time getting my focus, a rough time praying… it was just R.O.U.G.H. I’m not really sure why. But, that’s just me; always looking for the problem and a solution. This sort of “fix it” mentality will sometimes get me off track in my relationship with The Almighty. Let me explain. Sin and Jesus don’t mix… AT ALL. When there is sin in my life, the Holy Spirit will start poking me with conviction. You see, Jesus loves me and will do whatever it takes to get my attention and rid me of the garbage in my life. Perry Noble had to give the best example of this:
“Let me illustrate…when Charisse drops a weapon of mass destruction in her diaper it is SO obvious! And, while she can continue on with life as normal after doing the deed…I can’t allow her to remain with crap in her pants.
So…I interrupt her. I pick her up and take her to a place where she can be cleaned. She doesn’t like it…she often cries and tries to get away…but I just can’t allow her to remain in her filthy condition. Why…because I’m her father and I love her so much!” – Perry Noble
Well, I’m a stubborn MALE with a physics degree who has been wired to ask the question “WHY?” Why are things the way they are? Why is there a problem and what variable can I change to solve the problem? The immediate response is to spend more time reading the Bible, do another “good work,” fast, or make another empty covenant that I know i’ll never keep. I scramble in search of anything that will make the nasty, dirty guilt go away. Anything but the only thing. 1 John 1:9 says that if we confess, God will clean us up. Jesus did the “fix it” part already. I’m getting pumped just thinking about it!
Enough of me rambling, bring on the WORD! I have been excited to dive in all morning!
Isiah 27:1 – My God is going to have some big, ginormous, William Wallace claymore wrapped in lightning and fire! Tell me that God didn’t invent World of Warcraft!
Isaiah 27:3 – God is continually watering and protecting so I can keep growing!
Isaiah 27:4-5 – Even those who fight against God, if they come to Him, can receive Him.
Isaiah 27:6 – “Fill the WHOLE WORLD with fruit”
Isaiah 27:11 – Dry. Broken. Burned. If God is continually watering me, I can’t be burned!
I’m ready to get my journal back… again…
