29 Apr 2008“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
Have you ever tried to change?
Have you ever tried to man up?
Have you ever tried to get serious?
Have you ever tried to give something your all?
I wrote this in my journal the other day, “To God, my life isn’t just history.” What I mean is God knows EVERYTHING about EVERY day that I have LIVED and will LIVE.
When God looks at my life, He doesn’t just see the things I have done. He also sees things I will do. He sees the man I am going to become, not just the boy I was.
There is a problem with that. Some people can’t and/or won’t look past the crap in my life. I HATE THAT! I hear all the little whispers from the religious, my friends, the ones I love, and Satan that do nothing except bring me down.
THAT IS NOT FROM CHRIST! The bible says I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me. The bible says I am forgiven! The bible says Jesus has started a work in me and he won’t finish until it is PERFECT! The bible says I am ransomed unharmed from the war of those who oppose me!
Jesus did not look at Peter and call him “the cry baby who sank in the water cuz he didn’t trust me” or “the slack friend who didn’t even stand up for me while I died.” He called Peter the rock which He WILL build the church on. AND THE GATES OF HADES WILL NOT OVERCOME IT! He defined Peter by what He is going to become. NOT for the screw ups in his life.
Jesus brought change to the world. Jesus manned up. Jesus stepped up His game. And Jesus gave it His all! And what did He get in return… DEATH!
Persecution will come.
Jesus had nothing to prove to man.
He forgave those who crucified Him.
I am live for an audience of One!

I hope I have never brought you down with your faith Matt…
If I ever did, I was blind to the love of grace…

I definitely used this post to vent some, but I didn’t want it to become a ‘debbie downer’ post. I wanted to use it for encouragement and motivation.
@Dad, thanx… its ok!
@Kelly, there is no need to apologize, and you don’t deserve it either! But, look at the awesome times we had w/ God from it!!

If you knew how much you are loved and looked up too, with-in your Family and Friends, your heart would be filled with joy.
Seeing you on stage in front of the Rock’ during Sunday service fills me with pride.
It almost brings me to tears sometimes.
Love,
Dad
